Orientation----------------------------------------------------

Arrival / ParkingCamping/ Food/ Swimming/bathing/ House Access/Late night party/Format of weekend

This orientation for you to help all of us make due with what we’ve got, and to provide you with the best information possible.

Arrival: at 431 Clinton Hollow Road

Pull  in to the parking area in from of the house.

Check in and get your wrist band.

Unload all of your stuff.

There will be folks out there to greet you, and help you unload, and place a name tag on your gear.

To avoid confusion, and traffic clutter,

Please park your car immediately.

Parking:

To save space we encourage you to carpool wherever possible!

There are what appear to be three dirt roads across the street form our house.

These are private residence driveways, do NOT park there! Thanks!

There are limited stretches of shoulder on the side of the road.

Park well off the road.

Pay attention, cars go fast on this street.

Overflow parking, down at the Recreation park, 4 houses back down the street.

You can walk, get a ride back to even better ride your bike back to the house.

Please tell someone if you need a ride.

Make sure you have everything you need, before moving your car off-site.

Campers and or overnighters are encouraged to park off site.

Camping:

The immediate lot surrounding the house is small and most of it is not flat.

For this reason there is no room for RVs, however there is an RV park

About 5 miles from the house called Interlaken Campground.

They have hook ups and showers.  Tent camping is also allowed there.

Space for Car camping at the house will be limited, and an a first come first serve basis,

based on reservations received in advance.

For those wishing to tent camp on site,   there is a hill that you must haul your gear down.

Garden carts and assistance will be provided.

Yes, you will grumble, but when you see where you will be camping, it’s beautiful, and

worth the trip alone!

Please set up camp in designated areas, and allow room along the creek for everyone to enjoy

the stream side.

You can also see pictures of the camping area on the website, from the 2004 event.

In the event of rain, you can simply elect to bunk right on the dance floor, you will be dry!

Guests, please do not roam into neighbors property or change any part of our landscape!

(It has happened)

Food:

Of course you are invited to pot-luck it with your friends, or group,

But we are not providing meals, all weekend.

We offer the Saturday night, soul food picnic, choose from a chicken or fish dinner.

We also offer Sunday morning brunch.

Fee for both meals is $20.00, and we need your reservation with food by May 10th,  to pay the caterer.

We will also have chowder and gumbo available for 3.50 a bowl.

Fresh coffee and hot water for tea will be available to weekend registrants.

Those who have a full registration( of $75.00) may use the stove or freezer, and sink.

There are also local eateries:

The fireside BBQ Grill( where we have our late night party)

Schultzville General Store, North at the end of our street, Breakfast and lunch,

& The Salt Point Deli back down in the hamlet.

Showers/swimming

Showers are available only to those who have pre-registered   for the full weekend fee of $75.00

And space will be limited.

There will be a sign up sheet on the bathroom door.

(Bathrooms are for showers only, please use to toilets provided)

The well pumps in the house are old, so we cannot have water running continuously.

You will have 5 minutes of hot water at a time.

We suggest you get in o 5 minutes, get wet, shut water off, lather up, and then rinse off.

Shave and do the hair back at you camp site please.

If you are rinsing dance sweat off, by plunking in the creek, please DON’T USE SOAP IN THE STREAM!

You those who love to take a plunk, please use water shoes, as there may be unseen sharp objects in the sand.

Children must have a life preserver, in the water.

If it has rained recently, the current will be fast.

Tubes and rafts are fun, you are welcome to bring them.

NO children should be left alone by the creek.

Access to the house

You must have a full weekend wristband to use the house, or be a volunteer.

Late night Party

We will move down to the fireside Grill for our Saturday night party.

The Zydeco Hogs will be providing the music, and we do expect the other musicians to participate.

This will be from 11 PM to 3Am.

You can order cocktails and appetizers.

This allows us to go late, and not worry about neighbors complaining about the noise.

Please carpool, and drink responsibly.

Format of weekend:

Being that this is not a festival, there will be no set schedule in stone.

We will not have music for 12 hours straight, but allow some time in between sets

For you to enjoy our area, take a bike ride, or just enjoy the property, and being with friends.

Friday night will be relaxed, and we’ll be getting you checked in.

Cleoma’s Ghost will play and lead us in an open jam.

We have our tent for dancing, and a wooden dance floor.

If it is cold and rainy we will open up a lounge in the walk in basement,

Just near the entrance to the tent.

We are planning on having some jams and some dancing down in the camp area as well.

You are invited to stay until Monday, but no activities are planned except for clean up

And them pooping out by the water!

We always love the jams and song swaps that occur in the morning.

Cleoma’s Ghost will lead the jam on Sunday morning.

If you are participating in a song swap, bring lyrics to share.

Thanks for being with us, and we hope you all have a blast!

We have provided various payment options,   to best suit your needs.

See the registration form.
