Heaven!  We arrived and I thought I was in Heaven ! It was warm, and everywhere I looked there were breathtaking scenes.  I felt like I was in the “Sound of Music”.  As I felt a wild urge to run and skip down the hill, surrounded by acres of green.  But it wasn’t the Sound of Music, it was the ‘Koolest’ mixture of the ‘Kingdom of Zydeco’ meets ‘Wizard of Oz’, and Tommy Hahn was our king!  The barn was warm and cozy and we danced day and night to the greatest music in all the Land.  At the end of the weekend with my  heels clicking as my feet told me “there is no place like home!”

Rave reviews for the wonderful, amazing, brilliant reunion put together by Pat and Will, the Hahn family and their wonderful staff of hard working volunteers.  The weekend was one of the best that I have ever been to. Every detail was brilliantly taken care of.  It went exceptionally smooth, even with the occasional dramatic storm.  It is truly surprising what Pat and Will et al, were able to do, especially because it was so elaborate, and well orchestrated, (yet) not produced by a … promoter in it for the business ....   The music was fabulous, and the people, great!

That was the nicest festival I can ever remember going to! What an incredibly beautiful place. To wake up to a new calf hanging out with Mama and bull, mist rising from their backs, redwing blackbirds chirping in the tree above our tent, cardinals wailing away in the distance.   Later in the day, images of cows and calves careening down the hillside, lit up with sun and backed with dense, blue grey storm clouds. I loved how small this event was, creating a sense of intimacy for the weekend, among bands and attendees … Like Stanfordville, and better!  All the bands seemed to intertwine with such comradery,  and to be playing for the joy of it.  Thank you!  I know many others are floating on a cloud of bliss, wherever they are right now.

“Definitely a five star (and a three rainbow) event!

And what about that hayride to the “Sound of Music” hill?! We had a great time! Even with my first stint at volunteering in the kitchen, I still had plenty of time to enjoy the music,  people, scenery, and incredible dancing. MY volunteering duty added a certain spice and warmth to my experience. And everyone was so nice to my kids!”

Thank you two for the immense amount of work and stress and skill it took to pull it together!!!!.  What an incredibly beautiful place.  To wake up to a new calf hanging out with mama and bull, mist rising from their backs, redwing blackbirds chirping in the tree above us, cardinals wailing away in the distance...Later in the day, images of cows and calves careening down a hillside lit up with sun and backed with dense, blue grey storm clouds....and the storm cloud greeting us upon arrival....Whew. So many vivid images.

I love how small it was, creating a sense of imtimacy of the weekend, among bands and attendees...Like Stanfordville and better..And the dance floor was great, and the hay bale seating was sweet, and the bands all seemed to intertwine with such camaraderie, and to be playing for the joy of it, mostly...Images I wish I could've capture; of Noam playing and smiling at his adoring sister dancing in front, and his sister and the big drummer ("big bud?") dancing, and Sean mingling with the audience...

Anyway, thank you, and I know many others are floating on a remaining cloud of bliss wherever they are right now.  I overheard a few conversations of people saying how extra special this event was.

Cajun Cows

I think they were Cajun cows. I noticed they were hanging out closer to the stage when the Cajun bands were playing.
